the first time i watched i just thought “huh, freaky” but i dig the song. then i read this comment…

“The pool was built on an Elder God’s burial plot. The pool itself has been filled with evil and corrupts those who swim in it, mutilating them based on their fears or desires. The girl that escapes sees something growing violently in her stomach when she is in the water, this is because she fears pregnancy, so the pool impregnated her with a demon spawn of some sort. When she escapes into the alternate dimension, her eyes burst into flames upon seeing the Elder God because she is not worthy.”

…and i thought that was a pretty awesome interpretation. now i watch (or at least listen to) this almost daily.
